Jeff Nelson

Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, Elder {Marriage, Family, Parenting}

 

Jeff is a native of Birmingham, AL. He graduated from Briarwood Christian School with an Advanced Diploma which included 7 years of Bible. He attended Samford University for two years and UAB for two years; he received a BS degree from UAB in Business Management. Before the Lord called Jeff into full-time ministry in 1998, he spent 15 years managing one of the largest commercial/residential landscape companies in Birmingham.

 

Jeff is a man with a passion! A passion for teaching the Truth of God's Word and seeing believers walk in that Truth! Jeff has been teaching the Bible for almost 30 years. He is funny and entertaining while accurately teaching God's word! Jeff is a founding member of Wills Valley Community Church and has been a part of our staff since its beginning. Jeff has filled the roles of Children's Pastor, Youth Pastor, Family Pastor, and Elder during the life of this church.

 

Jeff is currently volunteering as an Elder and as Youth Pastor.  Jeff and Ann also mentor some of our members with Family, Marriage, & Parenting. With the experience of 29+ years of marriage and raising 11 children, Jeff is well "shaped" to fill these rolls on our pastoral staff.

 

Jeff is a full-time, faith-supported missionary, serving as the Director of Ponderosa Student Ministries and Ponderosa Bible Camp in Mentone.  Jeff has been married to his wife Ann for 30 years, and they have 11 children ranging in age from 9 years old to 28 years old.

The oldest 5 Nelson children are married.

Jeff and Ann have 6 grandchildren.
